Your help would be greatly appreciated in any of the following positions:
Receptionist - People Skills Opportunity. This friendly, straight forward and understanding volunteer will need to be able to multi-task. They are an information source and communications hub; providing information on agency services and procedures; assisting customers with signing in for Market, appointments and workshops; As well as, answering phones, directing calls and taking messages.
Intake Worker - People Skills Opportunity. This is a long term volunteer commitment that requires scheduling time in advance to complete training for the agency software. This volunteer would need to be understanding, have simple computer skills such as typing and navigating and need to be aware of confidentiality while assisting customers in the verification process for determining eligibility and documenting the services they will be receiving..
Market Worker - People Skills Opportunity. This friendly and understanding volunteer escorts customers through the market using "The Rainbow" cards to ensure food distributed for family size is the correct amount and offering healthy choice and meal planning suggestions.
Market Stocker - Physical Labor Opportunity. This volunteer ideally would be able to lift up to 25 lbs. to assist in unloading donation deliveries. They should also not mind getting a little dirty moving boxes and cleaning in the back warehouse. Heavy lifting is not required for sweeping, moping, sorting, organizing and stocking shelves in the Market area or performing housekeeping in the reception area.
Ohio Benefit Bank Counselor - OBB Certifcation Opportunity. This is a long term volunteer commitment to assist with filling out applications submitted on line for: Food & Cash assistance, Veteran Benefits, FAFSA, Income Taxes, HEAP, WIC, Medicaid, Health care for children and families.
